The National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) was launched in 2005 by the government of India to deal with the health needs of the underprivileged and under-served rural areas of the nation. When started, it projected with health requirements of the 18 states that were known as having poor public health signals.

Bringing change, one at a time!
ITSU or the Immunization Technical support unit of
the Ministry of health and family welfare (MoHFW) is a collaborative
and integrative initiative that aims to create an India where the goals
of Immunization are met, and everyone is protected against
vaccine-preventable diseases.

NHM set towards a Healthier India!
The aims for the National Health Mission
has been to immunize the country and prevent diseases that can be

In order to ensure quality healthcare
services to every section of the society, the National Health Mission further constitutes of the National Urban
Health Mission and National Rural Health Mission.
There are various initiatives under the National Health Mission. Some of them
are:
- Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY)
This initiative aims to reduce maternal mortality by providing them with
proper government health facilities. Many poor households have received access
to public health sector facilities due to this initiative.
- National Ambulance Services
- Free Drugs and Free Diagnostic Service
Under this scheme, free drugs and diagnostics services are provided in
order to curtail the medical expenditure of the poorer section of the
community.
